First, I want to begin today’s column by saying I wish everyone reading this good health and well wishes.

To many, our work at Adams Economic Alliance is focused on economics—the very word is in our name. But without people, partners and relationships, there are no economics or economy.

So today, in these challenging times amid the COVID-19 pandemic, I want to focus on people, partners and relationships. The true test of relationships comes under stress such as that we’re experiencing right now. And I’m proud to report that our network is strong, intact and thriving.

We (Adams Economic Alliance) have never worked more closely and in tandem with our partners than now. From state and federal partners to local organizations, we are a gathering hub and conduit for information and resources. Everyone is stepping up, helping and supporting each other.

Adams County businesses: We are here for you. These are challenging times. None of us knows how long this pandemic will last and none of us know exactly how it’s going to impact our businesses and economy. But the impact will be felt, and we are here to help provide resources and minimize that impact as best as we can.

What resources are available?

The answer to this question is changing and evolving. The best advice we can provide is to check the home page of our website, AdamsAlliance.org. There, you will see lots of evidence of the partnerships I mentioned—from the county level to state level, and our counterparts in neighboring counties, all banding together to help the Central Pennsylvania region. Depending on your situation, business or industry type, there are a multitude of loans, grants, and programs available, aimed at helping businesses, from manufacturers to farmers, weather this storm.

We are here for you.

If, after reviewing the resources on our website, you have unanswered questions, please reach out to us. We are responding as quickly as we can under the circumstances.

To say we are busy is an understatement. I have to give kudos to Alliance staff for working tirelessly to communicate with the public and partners, process requests and applications, and to listen. We look forward to supporting, rebuilding, and thriving—together, in partnership.

Be well, Adams County.
